New York, NY – Today, The Birthing of Giants Fellowship Program announced that Doug Tatum, the author of No Man’s Land and a leading advisor to emerging middle-market companies, has joined its Board of Experts as an advisor  to the Birthing of Giants curriculum.

About Doug Tatum

Doug is Chairman of Newport Board Group, a national partnership of CEOs and senior executives who advise emerging middle market companies and assist private equity firms to invest in and grow portfolio companies.

Doug serves as an Entrepreneur in Residence at the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship at Florida State University. He is also Advisory Board Chairman for the Business Dynamics Research Consortium, a national research institute, funded by the NASDAQ Foundation and the University of Wisconsin – Extension. It studies the entrepreneurial economy and job creation.

He is Immediate Past Chairman and serves on the board of directors of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), a global not-for-profit organization with 58 Chapters and 14,000 members in the US and internationally, representing middle market private capital investors, intermediaries and the middle market deal community. Doug is the author of No Man’s Land, a leading text about growth companies that has been translated into many languages and has won four National Best Business book awards.

His insights about the economy and business have been cited in hundreds of media outlets including Inc. Magazine, The Financial Times, and The New York Times online.

As Chairman and CEO of Tatum LLC, Doug built a highly respected national professional service firm, leading it from its entrepreneurial phase to growth to 30 offices. Tatum LLC was sold to Spherion (now SFN Group) in 2010.

Originally incubated in the hallways of M.I.T. in 1996, with the partnership of Inc. Magazine, Birthing of Giants is an educational program for owners of growing companies and has had several of the leading entrepreneurs of its day pass through its doors. Earlier this year, The Business Owners Council (ownerscouncil.net), a learning community for the owners of fast-growing companies—also incubated by Inc. Magazine—completed a transaction to acquire the brand in order to re-launch the legendary entrepreneurs masterclass program.

To be considered for this program, you must apply. Only 40 applicants will be selected for the 2017 year. Upon acceptance and completion of the program, you will be a Birthing of Giants Fellow for life and invited to alumni network conferences and events. High-achieving graduates will be invited to participate in an advanced accelerator program.
